The Person Behind the Tools
Codes of Hex is a one-person project built to solve a simple problem: everyday tools should be free, fast, and honest about it.
Tech professional with 5+ years of experience, based in Bangalore. Self-taught developer, resourceful problem-solver, and a firm believer in the AI-first approach to building things. The alias? Hex is my in-game name — friends picked it up, it stuck, and eventually became the name behind the project.
Why I Built This
The short version: I got frustrated.
I have spent over five years working in tech — but my real education has always been the stuff I teach myself after hours. It started with gaming (that is where "Hex" comes from — my in-game name that friends adopted and that eventually became an identity). Gaming taught me to be resourceful, to figure out systems, and to find the fastest path to a solution. Turns out those instincts transfer pretty well to building software.
A couple of years ago I needed to convert some files — nothing complicated, just an image format change. I searched for a free tool online. The first result wanted me to sign up. The second had a paywall after five conversions. The third plastered my screen with popups and felt like it was one click away from installing something I did not ask for.
The thing that bothered me most was the word "free." These sites all said free, but they meant free until you actually need it. Ten conversions, then pay. Three files a day, then upgrade. Free with a tiny asterisk that leads to a paragraph of conditions.
So I started building my own. I taught myself frontend and backend development, adopted an AI-first approach to work smarter instead of harder, and over the past two years turned that frustration into Codes of Hex — a growing collection of tools that do exactly what they say on the label, with no catches. I figured if I needed a single, honest place for my daily use cases, a lot of other people probably did too.
Every tool on this site processes your files without hidden limits, without requiring an account, and without storing your data longer than it takes to hand you the result. That is the whole point.

Beyond that, I am constantly picking up new things: a new framework, a new AI workflow, a random rabbit hole on how something works under the hood. Building Codes of Hex is honestly an extension of that habit — each new tool is just the latest thing I wanted to figure out.
